At Engine Co. Cleaners, we take pride in providing professional exterior cleaning services using safe and effective methods tailored to each surface. By scheduling or receiving services from Engine Co. Cleaners, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions.

1. General Service Disclaimer

Engine Co. Cleaners utilizes industry-standard soft washing and pressure washing techniques to clean exterior surfaces. While every effort is made to safely clean and protect all surfaces, exterior cleaning involves inherent risks depending on the age, condition, installation quality, and maintenance history of the property.

Engine Co. Cleaners is not responsible for damage resulting from:

  • Pre-existing conditions

  • Improper installation

  • Aging materials

  • Manufacturer defects

  • Existing structural issues

  • Previously damaged or deteriorated surfaces

2. Pre-Existing Surface Conditions

Customers acknowledge that surfaces may contain pre-existing issues including, but not limited to:

  • Oxidation or chalking

  • Loose siding or trim

  • Cracked mortar or concrete

  • Wood rot or deterioration

  • Failing caulk or seals

  • Rust stains

  • Existing water intrusion

  • Faded paint or coatings

  • Loose fixtures or materials

Engine Co. Cleaners is not liable for damage related to or resulting from pre-existing conditions.

3. Oxidation Disclaimer

Certain siding, painted surfaces, gutters, and exterior materials may have oxidation present prior to cleaning. Cleaning may reveal or make oxidation more noticeable.

Engine Co. Cleaners is not responsible for:

  • Oxidation exposure

  • Chalking

  • Uneven appearance caused by oxidation

  • Fading or discoloration of aged surfaces

4. Water Intrusion Disclaimer

Exterior cleaning introduces water to the outside of the property. Engine Co. Cleaners is not responsible for water intrusion resulting from:

  • Improperly sealed windows or doors

  • Missing caulking

  • Cracked siding

  • Missing house wrap or moisture barriers

  • Existing leaks

  • Improper construction

  • Aging building materials

  • Faulty drainage systems

Customers are responsible for informing Engine Co. Cleaners of any known leaks or vulnerable areas prior to service.

5. Roof & Gutter Disclaimer

Roof and gutter cleaning services may expose pre-existing issues including:

  • Loose shingles

  • Granule loss

  • Deteriorated flashing

  • Existing leaks

  • Brittle roofing materials

  • Clogged downspouts

  • Structural defects

Engine Co. Cleaners is not responsible for issues related to aging roofing systems or improperly installed gutters.

6. Concrete, Paver & Surface Cleaning Disclaimer

Concrete, stone, pavers, and masonry surfaces may contain permanent staining, oxidation, efflorescence, rust, oil penetration, or discoloration that cannot be fully removed.

Results may vary depending on:

  • Surface age

  • Existing damage

  • Prior sealing

  • Type of staining

  • Length of buildup exposure

Engine Co. Cleaners does not guarantee complete stain removal.

7. Rust & Iron Staining Disclaimer

Properties with high iron content water, irrigation systems, fertilizer runoff, or metal oxidation may experience rust staining.

While stain removal treatments may improve the appearance of rust stains, complete removal cannot be guaranteed.

8. Deck & Wood Surface Disclaimer

Wood and composite surfaces may contain:

  • Splintering

  • Raised grain

  • Existing deterioration

  • Loose boards

  • Previous stain or sealer failure

Cleaning may expose imperfections or aging that existed prior to service.

9. Plant & Landscape Disclaimer

Engine Co. Cleaners takes precautions to protect landscaping, including pre-wetting and controlled chemical application. However, customers acknowledge that exterior cleaning chemicals may affect sensitive vegetation.

Customers are responsible for informing Engine Co. Cleaners of:

  • Delicate plants

  • Outdoor pets

  • Fish ponds

  • Sensitive landscaping features

10. Electrical & Exterior Fixture Disclaimer

Customers are responsible for ensuring all exterior electrical outlets, fixtures, doors, windows, and penetrations are properly sealed and weatherproof.

Engine Co. Cleaners is not responsible for issues related to improperly sealed or defective exterior fixtures or electrical components.

11. Service Expectations

Exterior cleaning services are designed to improve the appearance of surfaces by removing dirt, algae, mildew, grime, and buildup. Results may vary depending on:

  • Surface age

  • Material condition

  • Environmental exposure

  • Existing staining or deterioration

Engine Co. Cleaners does not guarantee restoration to “new” condition.

12. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide access to water and utilities

  • Ensure all windows and doors are closed

  • Secure pets

  • Remove fragile or valuable items from work areas

  • Inform Engine Co. Cleaners of any known property concerns before service

13. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Late payments may be subject to additional fees.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Engine Co. Cleaners shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from services performed.

The customer agrees that Engine Co. Cleaners’ total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service performed.

15. Acceptance of Terms

By scheduling service, approving an estimate, signing a quote, submitting payment, or allowing work to begin, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

16. Cancellation Policy

Customers may reschedule or cancel services at any time prior to 48 hours before their scheduled appointment without penalty.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled service date and time are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. This fee helps cover lost scheduling time, travel planning, labor allocation, and reserved service availability.

Engine Co. Cleaners reserves the right to waive the cancellation fee at its sole discretion in cases involving emergencies, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

By scheduling service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to this cancellation policy.

Weather Disclaimer

Engine Co. Cleaners may continue working during light rain conditions when safe and appropriate to do so. Light rain typically does not affect the quality of most exterior cleaning services.

However, for the safety of our team and protection of your property, services may need to be postponed in the event of:

  • Heavy rain or downpours

  • Lightning or thunderstorms

  • High winds

  • Unsafe weather conditions

If weather conditions require rescheduling, customers will be moved to the next and earliest available appointment opening in our schedule. We always make every effort to minimize delays and complete services as quickly as possible once conditions safely allow.
